Ingredients*:

  • 1 garlic clove, halved

  • 400 ml (1 2/3 cups) dry white wine

  • 400 g (14 ¼ oz) Miranda cheese (ideally grated or cubed)

  • 400 gr (14 ¼ oz) Vacherin cheese (ideally grated or cubed)

  • 30 ml cornstarch (mixed with some of the kirsch or white wine)

  • 30 ml (~ 1 ounce) kirsch

  • Freshly ground pepper and nutmeg (to taste)

  • 2 baguette rolls, cubed

    Prepare all your ingredients before you start cooking

    Rub the inside of the pan with the garlic halves.

    Add white wine and simmer over medium heat (without boiling).

    When the wine is hot, add the two cheeses ingredients, Vacherin and Miranda, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.

    When the cheeses have melted and reached a creamy consistency, season with pepper and nutmeg.

    Bring to the boil (for a few seconds), stirring constantly.

    Dissolve cornstarch in kirsch and stir into melted cheese mixture.

  • Step 8

    Transfer the pan to the table and keep warm on the burner.
