Ingredients*:
1 garlic clove, halved
400 ml (1 2/3 cups) dry white wine
400 g (14 ¼ oz) Miranda cheese (ideally grated or cubed)
400 gr (14 ¼ oz) Vacherin cheese (ideally grated or cubed)
30 ml cornstarch (mixed with some of the kirsch or white wine)
30 ml (~ 1 ounce) kirsch
Freshly ground pepper and nutmeg (to taste)
2 baguette rolls, cubed
Preparation*:
Step 1
Prepare all your ingredients before you start cooking
Step 2
Rub the inside of the pan with the garlic halves.
Step 3
Add white wine and simmer over medium heat (without boiling).
Step 4
When the wine is hot, add the two cheeses ingredients, Vacherin and Miranda, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
Step 5
When the cheeses have melted and reached a creamy consistency, season with pepper and nutmeg.
Step 6
Bring to the boil (for a few seconds), stirring constantly.
Step 7
Dissolve cornstarch in kirsch and stir into melted cheese mixture.
Step 8
Transfer the pan to the table and keep warm on the burner.
