Our history
In 1981, Fritz Kaiser opened a small cheese factory in rural Noyan, Quebec, with the vision of creating artisan cheeses of exceptional quality.
Today, over 40 years later, Fromagerie Fritz Kaiser has become a benchmark in the Canadian cheese industry, recognized for its award-winning cheeses and its commitment to excellence.
Passed down from generation to generation, our know-how continues to evolve while preserving the traditions that make our cheeses so good.

The cheese factory over the years
Opening of the cheese factory
Mr. Kaiser opens a small cheese factory in rural Noyan, Quebec.
The beginnings of the present building
The current building was completed, cheese production was transferred and cheese sales began across Canada.
Kaiser cheese at Costco
Mr. Kaiser began selling the “Trio” at Costco.
"Fritz Kaiser Distribution" founded
Mr. Kaiser set up the “Fritz Kaiser Distribution” company to sell his cheese in other stores.
First prizes
First prizes were awarded for Chevrochon and Empereur by the American Cheese Society.
Current store boutique
Renovation of the existing store boutique.
Fromages CDA Creation
Mr. Kaiser and his partners joined forces to create the distribution company Fromages CDA.
The Soeur AngĆØle
Creation of our ” SÅur AngĆØle ” cheese in aid of the SÅur AngĆØle foundation.
New production room
The new production room has been built and completed.
Adrian Kaiser cheese maker
Adrian Kaiser, eldest son of Fritz and Christin Kaiser, moves to Switzerland to complete his studies and become a cheese-maker.
Adrian cheese maker
Adrian returns to Canada after completing his training as a cheese maker.
New separator
The purchase of a new separator after the previous one caught fire!
We invest to improve quality and increase production volume.
An investment to improve quality and increase production volume of soft cheeses.
Noah Kaiser joins the team
Noah Kaiser, Mr. and Mrs. Kaiser’s youngest son, joins the cheese factory full-time.
The new co-owners of the cheese factory
Adrian and Noah officially become co-owners of the cheese dairy with their parents.
