Partenaires Fromagerie Kaiser
  • “A little gem for cheese lovers”

This cheese factory impresses us every time we visit, and the cheeses are excellent no matter which one you choose. You’ll be impressed when you see the bill. At least 50% cheaper than supermarkets.

  • “Even if it's out of your way, make a special trip!”

The tour guide at nearby Fort Lennox recommended this fromagerie, and we loved it! We grabbed some bread and cookies to go along with our cheeses, then had a picnic lunch on their table across the street. We had a raclette, green peppercorn cheese, and a goat milk brie.

Even if it’s out of your way, make a special trip!

  • “Kaiser Cheese”

A cheese lover’s paradise. I could eat cheese here 6 days a week, accompanied by good bread from the neighboring bakery.

  • “A little gem in the region”

In fact, some of their cheeses can be found at Costco, but most of the stronger ones need to be picked up here, and it’s well worth the trip from Montreal (about 50 minutes) near the border.

It’s local, it tastes great, and if you drive another 5 minutes, you’ll be at Lake Champlain (Venise-en-Québec).

  • “OMG. What can I say.”

OMG. What can I say. I’ve known this place from 25 yrs ago. We kept going back despite the renovations and building of the new store. They keep expanding their offer. Great cheeses and more. They started selling fresh bread and jams many years back. The secret is out. On a Thursday afternoon in September people still queue up with a shopping list for their friends and family. They’ve setup a few picnic tables and additional parking to accommodate the masses. Come early come quick come often!!!

  • Love this cheese company, but as someone who sells your cheese I don’t quite understand the bipolar minds behind the stickers/ logo! Always receiving a new one every time! Is it not possible to stick to one?! All of the members of our store collectively agreed that the red is the best looking.

  • “This place is amazing”

    This place is amazing.

The beer cheese is my favorite, and the brie was solid. Others in the group liked their swisslike cheese and softer one with some vegetable ash that was a bit ripe for my taste. Being direct to customers it’s around the same price as super market cheese and WAY better. Worth going out of your way on the way back from MTL if you’re in upstate NY.

The olive bread in stock is really well done and even the sparkling juice was really tasty. We got an apple blend (grapefruit I’m tempted to say?) and it was a delicious treat for the ride back.

  • “Best”

This is the best place to come and buy your cheese… we can taste it… we are advised… the staff is very welcoming and helpful… I recommend this place without hesitation. 👍😊✅

  • “Great cheese”

This cute little fromagerie has great cheese and condiments. We enjoyed sampling a few of the cheeses and purchased our favorites along with crackers, coffee, and a few sweets. The coffee is made using Nespresso pods and the selection of cold beverages includes juice, soda water, and standard cold drinks. There are a couple of small tables to sit inside and enjoy the atmosphere!

  • “Beautiful cheese store”

Wow, who would believe that just next to the border, away from main roads there is a beautiful cheese store offering unique and delicious cheeses produced right there. Thanks to the American Yelpers who actually wrote reviews about it, as I discovered its existence using Yelp rather then using the colourful local tourist maps. I may have been ignorant that Fromagerie Fritz Kaiser exists, but this is not the case for the rest of the Quebec population.

The store although very spacious was crowded. People kept coming and buying kilograms of cheeses. Yet service was fast and efficient. The speciality of the fromagerie is raclette, but they also have varieties of other cheeses. Some of the cheeses are available on the counter for tasting. We were also offered to try the cheeses we were interested in, which we ended up buying of course. Prices are competitive. I’m certainly coming back as I did not buy every single cheese type and I definitely feel I have to try them all, including the St Ambroise beer washed one. For now the aged Douanier is the absolute winner!
